100 years, 45 degrees and 950 thousandths - Vacheron Constantin
This is an anniversary that deserve to be celebrated in due style: Vacheron Constantin’s most original offset watch is 100 years young

The American 1921 belongs to the Historiques collection and regularly appears in fresh guises among the brand’s new models. It thereby carefully safeguards its heritage, an approach that is particularly important for such a distinctive timepiece. Instantly recognizable with its straight cushion-shaped case featuring a dial and crown shifted by 45 degrees, it reflects the resolutely inventive style of Vacheron Constantin. The latter is further manifested by straight lugs tipped by domed screws and the wonderfully calligraphic applied Arabic numerals, which are also tilted. For its centenary, the American 21 has also been given the Collection Excellence Platinum treatment. Not only is the 40x40mm case made of this heavy and precious metal, but so too are the strap stitching and the dial. The latter features a distinctive sandblasted texture reflecting the Collection’s aesthetic codes and bears the clearly visible signature “Pt 950”. Those who do not feel the weighty presence of platinum will at least be able to read it.
