This weekend, sweethearts will express their feelings as they celebrate the feast of St Valentine. Here are some perfect watches for the occasion.

Valentine’s Day is this Sunday, 14 February. Here is Worldtempus’s selection of watches to celebrate the occasion.

Harry Winston – Midnight Diamond Stalactites Automatic 36 mm

This special Valentine’s Day watch from Harry Winston brings a dash of romanticism the iconic Midnight Diamond collection. The iridescent mother-of-pearl dial enhances the brilliance of the gemstones, a harmonious symphony of diamonds, pink sapphires and rubies. The mechanical movement features a silicon hairspring, making it astonishingly accurate. The skeletonised oscillating weight in rose gold, decorated with Geneva striping, can be viewed through the transparent case back. The white gold case is set with 84 brilliant-cut diamonds and fitted with a white satin strap.

Chopard – L’Heure du Diamant

When Chopard’s watchmaking skill meets its jewellery expertise the result is a glittering marvel. The L’Heure du Diamant is a stunning showcase of the company’s creativity. This romantic timepiece marries purity, brilliance and mystery, its diamonds forming the perfect foil to the charms of the woman who wears it. The white or rose gold case is fitted with a satin bracelet. The dial is in the shape of a heart – a heart nestled inside another heart, in fact – both of which are set with diamonds. Dazzlingly romantic.

Bovet 1822 – Romance Intemporelle

Bovet is exploring new horizons with its Lady Bovet, complete with 39 mm case. As well as enjoying a seven-day power reserve thanks to its Virtuoso II calibre, the Lady Bovet also features the convertible Amadeo® case. It is child’s play to switch the watch around, disclosing a different face whose beautiful mechanics impress as much as its design. The first side features an off-centre dial at 12 o’clock, giving an unexpected view of the movement, while a seconds carriage at 6 o’clock completes the vertical axis. On the other side, a classically understated dial counts the hours and minutes. There is a men’s version of the Lady Bovet – Monsieur Bovet – which is driven by the same Virtuoso calibre.

Blancpain – Ladybird

The Le Brassus manufacture has produced a limited 99-piece edition of its Ladybird model to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Originally the smallest round watch in the world, the special Saint Valentine Ladybird now measures 21.5 mm in diameter, with white gold case and diamond-set bezel. At its heart beats an automatic movement with a silicon hairspring, making it mechanically very precise. Off the bottom of the watch, at 6 o’clock, swings a charm representing a ruby heart set in white gold pierced by a diamond-set arrow. The Ladybird, part of the Women de Blancpain collection, has been capturing women’s hearts since 1956.

Girard-Perregaux – Cat’s Eye Water-Lily

For Valentine’s Day Girard-Perregaux is introducing its newest watch in the Cat’s Eye collection, the Water Lily. This new model complete with mechanical manufacture movement is set with 412 diamonds on the dial, with a further 62 on the white gold case. The dial is designed to represent the ripples made by water in a pond, with two water lilies in either pink sapphire or emerald embellishing the tranquil waters of romance.
