To keep it protected against all hazards including the finest dust particles, Eterna has secured it inside a solid stainless steel case water resistant down to 200 meters, fitted with screwlocked crown and pushpieces and an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. In salute to the exploit to which it owes its name, its underside bears a discreet KonTiki medallion. The engraving depicts the KonTiki raft in reminiscence of Thor Heyerdahl's famous expedition.
