The unbeatable pair, Vesco and Guerini, triumph at the 2017 Nuvolari Grand Prix, winning their sixth victory in a row.

The 27th edition of the famous vintage car race, dedicated to the legendary driver Tazio Nuvolari concluded in Mantova on 18 September 2017. It was crew no. 84, made up of Andrea Vesco and Andrea Guerini in a 1939 BMW 328, who reached the highest step of the podium. The Special Team chosen by Eberhard to “wear” its colours, showed formidable resilience and tenacity throughout the race, which led them to their sixth consecutive title.
It was a hard-earned race until the final moment, involving a tight head-to-head with the Italian-Argentinian crew consisting of Juan Tonconogy and Barbara Ruffini, who drove a 1927 Bugatti TYPE40 and finished in second place. It was also a great performance from the crew ranking third: Belometti-Vavassori, in a 1932 Fiat 508 Balilla Spider Sport.

This new victory highlights the extraordinary skill of the reigning champions, who this time chose to compete in a car with a lower coefficient than in previous years. Keeping time for them, with a punctuality that has distinguished the Brand for 130 years, was the Official Timekeeper of the event: the watch hands of Eberhard & Co.
As always, the audience gave an enthusiastic response to the two-time world rally champion, Miki Biasion. Thanks to his collaboration with Eberhard, for whom he is a Brand Ambassador, he continues to strive for precision whilst improving his performance in this event as well. With his navigator, Laura Ciarallo, he crossed the finish line in 94th place.

Victoire!

Victory!

Despite a series of unfortunate withdrawals, the home team, Classicteam Eberhard, succeeded in placing three crews into the first 20 places in the rankings, with the Barcella – Ghidotti, Salvinelli – Ceccardi and Sisti – Corneliani, crews.

Of the 300 crews who officially set off to tackle the 1,050 km course, only 256 managed to cross the finish line, after passing through magnificent cities such as Urbino, Arezzo, Siena and Ferrara, the Modena and Misano racetracks, as well as landscapes of outstanding beauty.
This year’s Nuvolari Grand Prix was also proven to be a great success and a unique adventure for participants and spectators alike.

See you next year!
