At its "Time for Speed" event, the Lucerne-based brand offered a select group of guests to experience its partnership with hand-make ski manufacturer zai.

High-end ski brand zai and Carl F. Bucherer, the watch manufacturer with a long tradition, have been partners for many years. “We are both firmly rooted in our Swiss homeland. And we share a common love of detail, craftsmanship, timeless design, and an uncompromising demand for quality,” explains Sascha Moeri, CEO of Carl F. Bucherer.

The idea to stage a two-day event to coincide with the World Ski Championships in St. Moritz came from this close partnership. The name given to this exclusive event “Time for Speed” reflects an understanding that while the speed of time cannot be influenced, time is nonetheless essential to the measurement of speed, especially at the World Ski Championships! The name of this Carl F. Bucherer event was also a nod to the family company's ties with zai, a specialist winter sports brand and producer of quality, high-performance equipment.

The weekend got off to an excellent start on Friday as the brand celebrated the world championship title of its ambassador Wendy Holdener, who won the Ladie's Alpine Combined event earlier in the day.

The weekend was filled with highlights that included a visit to the Alpine World Ski Championships, crossing the frozen St. Moritz lake on quads, and a delicious local Engadine gourmet dinner. Guests were also treated to a sneak preview of a new product due to be launched at the forthcoming Baselworld show: a new version of the Manero Flyback with a champagne dial.

Besides this exclusive product preview, another highlight included a giant slalom with guests, all expertly directed by the brother of brand ambassador Wendy Holdener.
