Breguet's Héritage collection comprises timepieces of understated elegance for those fascinated by horology. This year the manufacturer has added a new model to this collection, equipped with one of the more romantic complications, namely the phases of the moon. The selfwinding calibre 586L movement in this watch follows the vagaries of a moon matched with the colours of the case, while the hours and minutes are indicated in the dial centre of engine-turned mother of pearl. The flat spring in silicon — a watchmaking sophistication — performs its duty in a 131⁄2 ligne movement with a power reserve of 40 hours. An additional specially shaped plate was made for the retrograde moonphase indication without adding to the height of the movement. Attention to detail is a hallmark of the Breguet watch; although invisible to the naked eye, the face on the moon is actually winking. Moreover, the platinum winding rotor has been engine -turned by hand.
There are a number of versions of this m odel offering a choice between a curved tonneau case in rose gold with a matching gilt moon, or watches in white gold cases with a rhodium moon. There is also a selection of woven leather straps and gold bracelets.
Breguet’s archives, kept in Switzerland and in Paris, record the developments that have sustained Breguet watchmaking for more than two centuries. The firm is committed to remaining ahead of its time with a flow of inventions and improvements.Find out more >
