Happy New Year! I sincerely hope that, as we turn the page on 2023 and open a new chapter on 2024, you have many positive memories to look back on, and lots to look forward to, both horologically and otherwise! In any event, we are here to bring some good news about our contribution to the growing worldwide appreciation for fine watchmaking in 2024.

I’ll begin with gratitude for the many kind words the WorldTempus team received since our new website went live in the summer. Every year, almost half a million of you browse our site for information that is both reliable and a pleasure to read. The reader experience is at the heart of our concerns. We have expanded our editorial team and our digital department, and will continue to do so in the coming year. Our small team at GMT Publishing now numbers 26, along with a similar number of external contractors, all driven by passion and emotional intelligence!

Happy New Year

Culture is Key

Over at GMT magazine, the launch of Tatler GMT last year (in collaboration with Asia’s biggest luxury platform, Tatler) extended the influence of horological values throughout Asia: China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan, with other countries due to come on board in 2024. The combined readership of these countries is closing on half a million. Tatler GMT also organised Timeless in Hong Kong and Macau, a new event that incorporates the GPHG exhibition, something we are keen to repeat in 2024. These events are in addition to those we already host for watch lovers in association with our GMT franchisees in Africa, Korea, India and the Middle East. Together we will be celebrating the 24th anniversary of GMT in 2024.

The cultural dimension of our role is also articulated in our Millennium Watch Book collection, the 4th volume of which is devoted to chronographs. This beautiful and informative 200-page work has been funded by our publishing house, which distributes and sells copies worldwide. The 2024 volume will be dedicated to GMT and worldtimer watches – the natural choice for GMT’s 24th anniversary year!

Variety is the spice of life

Our deep connection to the watch industry will also be reflected in the publication of the results of a major survey of watchmaking trends and challenges, conducted by our partner M&BD Consulting, which you will be able to read this spring on WorldTempus and in GMT.

Our most dedicated readers are also taking full advantage of our club, which continues to evolve, and which you can learn more about by clicking the relevant section in the menu bar. You will receive club invitations, exclusive information and VIP access, and can discover the brands that have chosen to celebrate GMT’s 24th birthday with special limited series available exclusively to club members. With this login, you can also choose to receive news only about your favourite brands.

With the expertise and dedication that is a feature of everything we do, we hope to inspire, entertain and inform you, and help you to have a better understanding of the magical world of watchmaking. Thank you to my wonderful team, and thank you for your time – we know how precious it is!
