We are playing guess the winner today if you want to play!

With the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) rapidly approaching, we thought it might be amusing to make our own predictions, so we did a little survey around the office and also asked our community on Instagram to join in the fun. Only a few days now to see if we were right. Let’s take a look at the contestants and what the polls say.

Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon 38 Mintnight

The sparkling scene depicted on the latest Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon is as poetic as it is artistic with the moon and the stars taking centre stage. The night sky is crafted from different shades of opalescent mother-of-pearl in mint green, turquoise, teal, and sky blue, while the moon is set with ruthenium crystals. Housed in a diamond-set, 38 mm, white gold case, this Perpetual moon is powered by a manual-winding movement and is limited to 18 pieces.

Hermès Arceau Petite Lune

The moon is also the muse for the Hermès Arceau Petite Lune with Hermès’ astral world sculpted in aventurine, mother-of-pearl, aragonite, and opal. This play on materials and textures gives relief and depth to the timepiece and is the result of meticulous artisanal work. The moon is created from freshwater mother-of-pearl and is positioned in the sky next to an opaline star that shines amid a constellation of diamond stars. The timepiece comes in a 38 mm white gold case with diamonds and is powered by a self-winding movement.

Beauregard Lili Bouton

Beauregard has also been inspired by the natural world with its floral Lili Bouton. Each of the petals is made from a hand-polished semi-precious stone, which is then set into the form of a three-dimensional flower with a mother-of-pearl pistil at its centre. The Lili Bouton is housed in a 33 mm white gold case adorned with diamonds on the bezel and lugs. Diamonds can also be found around the outside of the flower on the dial, making this timepiece a genuine jewel that tells the time.

Piaget Hidden Treasures

This unusual pink gold timepiece re-interprets Piaget’s cuff watches from the 1960s and ‘70s that became a hallmark for the Maison with their organic design that referenced the free-form, hyper naturalism of the times. This modern-day version features an oval ornamental turquoise dial that is half hidden under the gold bracelet on the left side of the timepiece, and features blue sapphires on the right. The pink gold bracelet is also of particular note as it is engraved using Piaget’s Palace Décor technique that highlights Piaget’s mastery of goldsmithing.

Van Cleef & Arpels Ludo Secret Watch

Now for something a little different. The Van Cleef & Arpels Ludo Secret Watch pays tribute to one of the Maison’s signature pieces of jewellery – the Ludo bracelet that was created in 1934. The collection was designed to pay homage to the world of haute couture, a source of inspiration dear to the Maison. Created in the form of a precious jewel-like belt, this 30 mm pink gold timepiece is set with approx. 4.98 carats of diamonds. As it is a secret watch, it can also be closed to look just like a bracelet for eveningwear.

XRby La Montre D’Art Espressione Romantica

The concept behind the Espressione Romantica is that each collection is a collaboration with a master artisan. For this version, XRby joined forces with architect, designer, and enameller Matteo Stauffacher, who created a striking cloisonné enamel dial for this timepiece based on the theme of contrasts. It took over 100 hours of work to create the dial and one metre of 24-karat gold wire. The timepiece comes in a 40mm white gold case and is powered by a self-winding movement.
