Thanks to its Alpina 4 model launched in 1938, Alpina is recognised as the inventor of the sports watch. The watch was based around the four concepts of anti-magnetism, anti-shock, water resistance and the use of stainless steel.
Established in 1883, the brand fell off the radar in the 1970s, but made a comeback in 2002 within the Frédérique Constant Group, which was acquired by the Citizen Group in 2016.
Alpina designs and engineers luxury sport watches that operate with great precision and reliability in the most demanding environments; all of them are tried and tested in one of the most demanding environments: the Swiss Alps.
Alpina offers five in-house calibres and in 2015, presented its first smartwatch and first in-house flyback chronograph.
