Profile of Jacob & Co's founder.
Jacob Arabo was born in Uzbekistan and was 14 years old when his family emigrated to the United States. At the age of 16 he embarked upon a jewellery apprenticeship, and it was not long before he had opened his own small workshop in New York’s diamond district and begun to produce designs for jewellery brands and private clients. In 1986 Jacob Arabo launched his own brand, Jacob & Co.
The company has built up a reputation for its bold creations, and has attracted a loyal following in the music business. Jacob & Co., which is still run by its founder, began making watches in 2002.
