Profile of Philippe Léopold-Metzger.

Philippe Léopold-Metzger, who has dual French and Swiss nationality, was born in 1954 in the United States (New York), where he went to school and began his career. He graduated with an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago and became product manager for American Cyanamid in 1979. Two years later he joined the Cartier-Vendôme-Richemont family, where he remains to this day.

Philippe Léopold-Metzger held a number of positions with Cartier: product manager for pens and lighters, head of distribution in the United Kingdom, president of Cartier Canada, CEO of Cartier Great Britain and CEO of Cartier Asia Pacific. Philippe Léopold-Metzger joined Piaget for the first time in 1992, and remained there until 1996. As the company’s number two he was in charge of sales, retail, development and marketing, and was instrumental in setting up the first own-brand boutiques. On returning to the company in December 1999 he was appointed chief executive of Piaget SA.

He was appointed non-executive chairman of Piaget on 31st March 2017 and was succeeded as CEO by Mrs Chabi Nouri, former director of sales and marketing at Piaget.
