The 2009 Red Dot design prize was awarded to the Masterpiece Squelette watch by Maurice Lacroix in its rose gold version, which found favour with the international jury of experts ahead of 3,231 other products from 49 countries submitted for its consideration.
The Red Dot design prize, established in 1955, is today the most famous design competition in the world. The jury bases its decisions on criteria such as ergonomics, quality and the level of innovation of the product.
In 2007, the firm hit the headlines when the Pontos Décentrique GMT won the Red Dot Best of the Best prize. This new distinction demonstrates the high level of design know-how of the Saignelégier based manufactory.
