In Lucent SteelTM and ethical 18-carat yellow gold: Two noble materials converge on a new 33 mm timepiece enhanced with a ‘Vals Grey’ dial

With Alpine Eagle, Chopard has created a contemporary sports collection featuring pure design and sophisticated mechanics. The collection welcomes a new model measuring 33 millimetres in diameter and for the first time combining  the gleam of Lucent SteelTM with the shimmer of yellow gold. Inspired by the beauty of Nature, this sparkling model features a “Vals Grey” dial whose purity is accentuated by diamond-set hour-markers. Making no compromises in terms of technical expertise, it is equipped with the Chopard 09.01-C self-winding movement ensuring a 42-hour power reserve.

Pure aesthetics

Although the Alpine Eagle collection has offered bicolour timepieces in Lucent Steel™ and rose gold since its launch in 2019, for the first time, this new 33-millimetre model now appears paired with yellow gold. This combination is carefully balanced, since the caseband and bracelet links are crafted from Chopard's luminous, ultra-resistant steel made with a recycling rate of at least 80%, while the bezel, crown and central bracelet cap are in ethical 18-carat yellow gold. The embossed dial continues this aesthetic association of colour nuances in ‘Vals Grey’ – chosen to evoke the silvery reflections of the quartzite slabs covering the roofs and walls of old alpine houses. This is punctuated by gilded hands and hour-markers at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock. This sparkling dial is further enhanced by the diamond-set bezel and hour-markers.

A Chopard self-winding movement

Whether in the city or the mountains, this Alpine Eagle timepiece can count on the reliability of a self-winding movement visible through the exhibition case-back. Chopard Calibre 09.01-C is crafted by the Maison’s artisans from 159 components. It is subject to strict specifications, guaranteeing a 42-hour power reserve and excellent reliability. Featuring a mere 8-ligne diameter, it is one of the smallest to be granted the prestigious certification of precision by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute, giving this timepiece its own special distinction.

Alpine Eagle: reinterpreting an icon

Developed by three generations of gentlemen in the Scheufele family, the Alpine Eagle collection is a modern reinterpretation of the St. Moritz watch, the first horological creation designed by Chopard’s now Co-President, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, in the late 1970s. With its pure, assertive design, Alpine Eagle enriches this heritage with powerful inspiration drawn from Nature. A round case with raised stylised flanks, a crown engraved with a compass rose, a bezel with eight functional indexed screws and a dial graced with deep colours and a textured pattern inspired by the eagle’s iris: Alpine Eagle is a token of refined and resolutely contemporary elegance.
