With over a dozen of Team Tests compiled this year, let’s have a look at some of our favourites

From neo-vintage dials to three-dimensional moon phases, the WorldTempus journalists have tried on a plethora of watches this year. They did not shy away from sharing their honest opinions in these Team Test reviews, where they passed the timepieces around to get not just one, but up to six different points of view. Here are some of the best.

Team Test: WorldTempus x Zenith

To kick off the year, our team of journalists got their hands on the Zenith Defy Skyline Skeleton for LVMH Watch Week 2023. What struck them most about this watch was its blue skeletonized dial, thanks to which one can admire the high-frequency El Primero 5Hz calibre. And, as a bonus, its water resistance of 100 meters.

Next, the team went back in time with the Ralph Lauren Polo Vintage 67. The main highlights of the watch include the aesthetic appeal of its preppy chic look (inspired by the 1920s), its oversized and highly legible numerals and its manual-winding calibre from La Joux-Perret. Oh, and it is incredibly comfortable to wear too.

Team Test: WorldTempus x Ralf Tech

While on our WorldTempus on Tour Summer Edition in Greece, our journalists were delighted to get their hands on the Ralf Tech WRB First Edition. In a few words, its 39mm case fit everyone’s wrists like a glove and its water resistance of 200 meters made them want to take a splash in the Aegean Sea!

Team Test: WorldTempus x Bovet 1822

Next up, the writers took the Bovet Récital 23 Phase de Lune out for a spin (for our editorial director Sophie Furley, all the way to London!) and their reviews were particularly inspired. Apart from the beautiful red gold gem-set case, hand-decorated dial and three-dimensional moon phase, what they seemed to like most about this piece was how it allowed their minds to wander at the flick of a wrist….

Team Test: Swatch x Blancpain

When Mathieu Rotzer from the Millennium Watch Book rolled in one morning wearing the Blancpain x Swatch collab, the team simply had to pass his watch around (i.e., it was already making the rounds before he had even turned his computer on!). The overall consensus: why didn’t he get more?!

Team Test: WorldTempux x Glashütte Original

Last but not least, our journalists had a field day with the Glashütte Original SeaQ Chronograph. Although a bit larger, they were impressed by its adherence to the demanding ISO 6425 and DIN 8306 norms and chronograph movement (the brand’s first diver’s watch to feature one!). Make sure to stay tuned at the beginning of next year, as this sports watch is coming to Scotland for a WorldTempus on Tour Winter Edition adventure!
