Editorial What is WorldTempus up to in Saint-Tropez this Week?

The idea is to do everything we do in a regular week, just from a slightly more exotic location

This week, our editorial team has packed up cameras, notebooks, pens, and watches and has relocated to the French Riviera to bring you a different kind of watch news week. Sounds like an excuse for a holiday? Maybe…but don’t tell the boss! One thing is for sure, it is going to be a week full of watch testing, reviewing, photographing and videoing from the luxurious location of Saint-Tropez, which will be fun for everyone.

We are not alone either. We are being joined by our friends from Diode Photo Studio, who are going to be helping document our adventures in photo and video. Looking at the amount of equipment they have brought with them, we are going to have a blast sharing all this with you in every kind of visual format.

We arrived last night in a brand-new Jeep Wrangler 4XE Plug-in Hybrid (more about that later), which made the drive to the coast a blast in itself. Today, we are kicking off with Maurice Lacroix, who has loaned us a suitcase of watches to play with. We are going to be testing the Aikon #tide out at sea, meeting the brand’s ambassador and longboard dancing champion Marina Correia for a skateboarding lesson, and training for their upcoming Berlin marathon in Saint-Tropez.

During the week, we are also going to be joined by the lovely folks from HYT, with lots of videos planned, including a driving interview in the Jeep, followed by Super-LumiNova testing in the dark, and a visit to the Nice Observatory with a brand-new timepiece, to name just a few things we are going to be up to with them.

Other brands joining us include Ralph Lauren with whom we are going to be playing polo at the Polo Club of Saint-Tropez. We are also going to be testing Ralph Lauren’s range of evening games that includes chess, draughts, and playing cards, all while testing their watches, of course. Fierce competition is expected!

Each day we will be doing one of our Team Tests, where the whole team will spend time with a different watch and give you their feedback about their experience with the watch on the wrist. Coming up first will be reviews of the Montblanc Iced Sea and a range of diving watches from Doxa’s SUB series.

For those of you who appreciate our more technical videos, we have brought the ShowCase with us and our Editor-in-Chief, Suzanne Wong, will be sharing her thoughts on the latest Carl F. Bucherer Patravi Scuba Tec Blanc Manta Special Edition and the DeBethune DB28GS “JPS”, among others.

Suzanne is also our official drinks and beverages manager and will be finishing each evening with a bespoke cocktail that will match a particular watch from our Saint-Tropez collection. These have been designed by Arthur from Le Verre à Monique cocktail bar and we cannot wait to taste them, especially the ones that match Bovet’s Sweet Art and Bulgari’s Diva’s Dream Allegra.
