This creation is a High Jewellery watch designed to resemble a garland of flowers woven on a hot afternoon.
The sophisticated skills of the Fabergé workmasters are evident in the delicacy with which the precious gems are interlaced with coloured fine stones - emeralds, Paraíba tourmalines, rubies, sapphires - and hard-stone micro-sculptures. In the lower section of the dial, a series of interlocking Grand feu enamel ribbons move across the round 18ct white gold case. One of them highlights the "Fabergé" name. Others, snow-set with precious gemstones, unfurl across the dial to envelop the case. The softly shaped bracelet is made of diamonds strung together like beads on a necklace. In the centre, a tiny floral chain meanders over its entire length.
Summer in Provence required the highly specialised set of skills of jewellers, gem-setters, enamellers and engravers, and of course watchmakers. The master watchmakers fashioned the Manufacture self-winding mechanical movement indicating the hours and minutes and offering a 50-hour power reserve.
The Summer in Provence timepieces comes in diamond, emerald and multi-coloured sapphire versions, with a matching jewellery suite composed of a necklace, earrings and ring.
