Florence - Kerbedanz
1 minute read
Kerbedanz gave to this piece of jewelry the emblematic name of the famous city of Florence, the capital of the province of Tuscany and cradle of the Renaissance in Italy.

Florence comes in a 43 mm 18K yellow gold 3N. Four Florentine fleurs de lys on the dial, embedded with beautiful rubies, recall the arms of Florence with fleur de lys vermilion florencé, the term “florencé” meaning the fleur de lys includes among its fleuron of the stems the buttons.

Sun guilloche dial recalls the solar lion of the Medici who became rulers of the tiwn in 1434. The representations of this lion, called Marzocco, holding in his right anterior leg a crest stamped with Florentine fleurs de lys, come across in several places in the city. It symbolizes the people’s power of Florentines (Medici lions symbolizing the power and the wealth of the Medici family).

Of this family, Laurent de Medici (1449-1492), called “The Magnificent” because of his great generosity, was undoubtedly the personality who has contributed the most to the reputation of the “city of art” of Florence. Leader of the Florentine Republic until his death, he was one of the most notable characters from this period of the Renaissance. Talented diplomat and politician he has worked with and protected a large number of scholars, poets and artists, among which Verrocchio, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo…

Florence is powered by an automatic mechanical KRB-03 calibre which is designed, manufactured and decorated by Kerbedanz and Technotime. The timepiece beats at a frequency of 28,800 vib/h, while enjoying a 120-hour power reserve thanks to its double barrel.

The watch is fitted with an alligator mississippiensis leather strap equipped with a 18K white gold folding clasp with a special Kerbedanz design. It is limited to just 68 pieces.
