Pontos Chronograph Blue Sun - Maurice Lacroix
Modern yet classic, the automatic PONTOS chronograph adds a twist to its timeless style with a new range of colours

Maurice Lacroix is expanding its collection with new timepieces that play with menswear design codes: The steel PONTOS Chronograph now features a large blue dial. Following the new design of the PONTOS chronograph for its 20th anniversary, Maurice Lacroix is expanding its elegant and sophisticated collection. More elegant than an AIKON, yet more simple than a MASTERPIECE, the blue Pontos Chronograph is still faithful to the iconic design of its watchmaking heritage. In addition to the steel versions with a steel bracelet and white dial enhanced by blue and silver finishings with gold accents, PONTOS introduces an incredibly understated yet bold timepiece.

Blue and grey

Maurice Lacroix reveals the automatic chronograph of the PONTOS collection in blue and grey, the two chromatic pillars of masculine chic style. This unusual balance of colours takes pride of place in the 43 mm case flanked by a crown with spiral notches. Grey bracelet and steel case. Arabic numerals are applied in a soft font, also in grey. And finally, the six hands in grey, of which the two main ones are openworked at the base and entirely coated with SuperLumiNova.

Refined and versatile

Maurice Lacroix retains the vibrant, deep blue hue and sunray-brushed surface. It offers its pared-down style to all the elements of the dial, including the graduated flange of the timer, the small seconds at 9 o’clock and the chronograph’s minute and hour counters. The same combination of colours is used on the PONTOS Chronograph’s attachments. The three-link steel bracelet specific to PONTOS can easily be replaced by the blue leather strap that matches the dial. Thanks to the introduction of the Easychange attachment system to the collection, the straps can be easily removed without tools.

Matte and luminous

Maurice Lacroix plays with the levels of brilliance of this chromatic base to fit in perfect harmony with the PONTOS collection. The 43 mm case features an entirely matte finish, while its push-pieces reveal a polished thread. The strap is satin-finished, while the edges of their central link are enhanced by a shiny bevel. The snailed counters contrast with the polished, outer circle and Arabic numerals. The whole is set on the luminous surface of the dial, which has been sunray-brushed providing infinite reflections

Resistant and reliable

The new blue PONTOS Chronograph is fitted with the ML112 calibre. Resistant, tried-and-tested, and reliable, it features an automatic-winding movement and a date display. The chronograph’s functions are displayed at 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock respectively for the hours and minutes of elapsed time. They are activated by two large push-pieces, comfortable to the touch, whose height varies in order to extend the size of the case and crown. It is powered at a frequency of 4 Hz, i.e. 28,800 vibrations per hour, and has a power reserve of around 42 hours.

However, despite the various finishes and extreme attention to detail, the PONTOS Chronograph maintains an exceptional price/performance ratio. By choosing an affordable and honest price for exceptional manufacturing quality, Maurice Lacroix has once again remained faithful to its ideals.
