If you are interested in starting an NFT watch collection, today could well be the day

Located in central Geneva, the WorldTempus doors are always open and our coffee machine is always on, especially when it comes to meeting new people with interesting projects.

Our Nonfungible Token meeting all started with an email from Luca Bauco, whose brother Alan Bauco, and two associates Rocco Di Capua and Nathan Bertrand, invited us to learn more about their Swiss NFT watch brand called MetaChronos. Intrigued by what they were up to, a bunch of us from the WorldTempus team decided to join the meeting to learn more about what our horological future may hold in store for us.

This young team of four digital entrepreneurs is just starting out and currently have other professional careers, while working on MetaChronos on the side. They will shortly be launching a sale of 7,777 NFT watches that are all unique and randomly generated with over 200 different elements.

30 Golden Tickets

Among the NFTs for sale, there will also be 30 golden NFTs hidden in the mix (think of those Charlie and the Chocolate Factory candy bars with golden tickets), which will enable 30 lucky winners to obtain a real-life Swiss MetaChronos watch matching their NFT.

Acquiring an NFT is a little like those Panini football cards that we all collected as kids. Just like the cards, you don’t know what you are getting when you hand your money over the counter, but if you don’t like the version you have received, all you need to do is swap, trade, or sell it for one that you do like.

What’s the point of owning a watch NFT?

Many of us are still struggling to understand why someone would pay a huge sum of money for a digital version of a watch? Let’s face it, you can’t wear it, you can’t play with it, you can’t put it in your safe and admire it next to all your other pieces. So, what’s the appeal?

It’s a pertinent question, and apart from the investment side, MetaChronos has given it some serious thought. You will be able to wear their watches on the Metaverse (in real life as well if you are a lucky owner of a golden ticket NFT). You will also be able to buy them from a virtual e-shop and admire them from your digital devices. When you think of all the watch collectors out there with hundreds of watches, they can’t possibly wear them all, at the same time. So the timepieces just sit there in the safe gathering dust, and hopefully money, but that’s never guaranteed.

Another advantage of an NFT watch is that it is digital and you can share it all over the Internet and now the metaverse too. It is also registered by Blockchain, so it cannot be forged duplicated or stolen, and it will last forever. Sure, other people can screenshot it, but as somebody once told me, that’s a bit like owning a poster of Leonard de Vinci’s Mona Lisa!

A Community of NFT Watch Lovers

MetaChronos isn’t just about selling watch NFTs either, it is also about becoming part of a community. The purchase of an NFT opens doors to exclusive parties, events, watches, and more, and that’s all part of the collecting magic. You don’t only collect, but you interact and exchange with other collectors.

The first party will take place in Dubai during Spring 2022, so if you fancy being part of the fun, maybe check out the sale on their social networks and on NFT marketplaces such as Open Sea. The sale is scheduled to open soon, and the current price is 0.25 ETH (or 710 CHF).

But if you don’t make it in time, MetaChronos is also sending the first NFT to the moon, for even more intergalactic magic to come. Something tells us that these digital entrepreneurs have a bright future ahead of them!
