This week’s highlights from Louis Vuitton, Omega, Hublot, Cvstos, IWC, and Hermès show how innovation, design, and storytelling are shaping a new era in luxury watchmaking.

Louis Vuitton & Kari Voutilainen: A Rare Collaborative Masterpiece
Louis Vuitton teams up with Finnish watchmaker Kari Voutilainen for the LVKV-02 GMR 6—based on the redesigned Escale line, combining trunk-making heritage with elite Swiss horology. The 40.5 mm case features hand-finished tantalum and platinum, while the dial’s hand-guilloché pattern nods to the 1888 Damier design. Voutilainen’s workshop also created the enamelled day/night indicator with a Monogram flower reference. The manually wound GMR 6 movement has 254 parts and includes dual time zones, power reserve, and enamel-painted hour circles by artist Maryna Bossy—each dial requiring 40 hours. Housed in a Monogram Eclipse trunk, only five pieces exist.

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 30 mm: Heritage Reimagined
Omega’s new Seamaster Aqua Terra 30 mm continues its long tradition of women’s watches, combining elegance and advanced mechanics. The 12-model collection includes stainless steel, 18K Sedna or Moonshine gold, and two-tone designs with textured dials ranging from sun-brushed to crystal and mother-of-pearl, plus raised indexes and a six o’clock date window. The transparent casebacks reveal calibres 8750 and 8751—both METAS-certified, featuring Co-Axial escapement and magnetic resistance to 15,000 gauss. The “My Little Secret” campaign showcases how six women wear the watch as an intimate expression of identity.

Hermès Expands Noirmont: Quietly Scaling Excellence
Hermès is expanding its Noirmont facility in the Swiss Jura from 4,000 to 11,000 m², designed like a modern riding arena to reflect its equestrian roots and the local culture, while keeping its headcount under 250 to preserve a human-scale approach. Since 2017, Noirmont has become central to Hermès’ watch production—handling dials, precious metal and titanium cases, while composite cases are finished in-house and movements and leather straps are made in Brügg. Hermès values knowing how to do everything, even if not doing it all, and its poetic complications like Le Temps Suspendu express emotion through mechanics. The brand sells watches only through its boutiques, shaping time its own way.

IWC Joins Apple’s F1 Film with a Star-Studded Timepiece Lineup
IWC is fully embedded in Apple Original Films’ F1, where Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a fictional racing veteran for the made-up APX GP team; the brand’s logo appears across race gear, and characters wear IWC watches that blend into the film’s narrative. Damson Idris wears the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Performance in red gold, while Pitt’s character sports an Ingenieur Automatic 40 with a racing green checkered dial powered by the calibre 32111. Two other APXGP chronographs in steel appear throughout the film. Shot during real Grand Prix™ weekends, the movie blurs fact and fiction while extending IWC’s link to Formula 1.

Karen Khachanov x Cvstos: A Lightweight Personal Watch
Tennis star Karen Khachanov, ranked 24th in the world, partners with independent Swiss brand Cvstos to co-create a 54-gram watch—his first after prior sponsorships with Rado and Rolex. Seeking creative involvement, he worked closely with co-founder Sassoun Sirmakes, who shares his Armenian heritage, to design a tonneau-shaped model where lightness guided every decision. He helped select the movement, case, bridges, and strap, resulting in a timepiece built for both sophistication and sport. Though not yet worn in competition, he trains with it regularly, viewing it as a symbol of authenticity and freedom beyond endorsement.
