Alpine conquest and the sea merge to create a powerful, racy self-winding original in a 39 x 40.40 mm steel case. A first variation with an anthracite dial is fitted with the integrated steel bracelet of the Extreme line, unveiled in 2023. The other two versions, both sporty and dynamic, feature a navy blue dial on a matching rubber strap, or an orange flange and matching rubber strap. Each model, a certified diver's watch with three hands and date, is water-resistant to 300 metres.
Alpina has taken an aesthetic and technical step forward in its outdoor activities: the company has chosen to adapt its iconic Extreme case to its Seastrong Diver line of diving watches. This choice, rare in a watchmaking industry that prefers to compartmentalise its ranges and models, reflects the importance of this compact and responsive cushion-shaped case. Its success is no longer just that of the Extreme line, but that of the entire Alpina brand.
The result is obvious. In its reduced, unisex version measuring 39 x 40.40 mm, the case is a spontaneous addition to the Seastrong collection. Land and sea come together intuitively, just as the shoreline of an ocean naturally embraces the coastline that welcomes it. The Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic has a sporty aesthetic, but its measured size means it can easily be adapted to everyday urban life, under a shirt or jacket. Here Alpina confirms its approach to technical watchmaking, uncompromising but fair and balanced, never ostentatious - a heritage of good taste and decorum stemming from its long history, which last year passed the 140th anniversary mark.
The new Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic is now available in three variations. They share the same aesthetic and technical vocabulary, the DNA of the collection.
An authentic certified diver's watch
At the heart of a dial textured with the Maison's emblematic triangular motif are three hand- polished central hands and a date window at 6 o'clock. For maximum legibility, and in full compliance with the ISO 6425 standard that certifies diving watches, the hour and minute hands, as well as the hour markers, are imprinted with luminescent material. The date window features a black numeral on a white background.
As is customary, the bezel is notched and unidirectional. Alpina has added a special in-house feature, which is not compulsory but which is considered relevant for outdoor activities: it is made of ceramic, a material that is extremely hard and resistant to shocks and scratches. To guarantee certified water-resistance to 300 metres, the caseback is screwed down - and engraved with the Seastrong motif - as is the notched crown at 3 o'clock. The AL-525 automatic movement, offering 38 hours of power reserve, is thus perfectly protected.
Three new models
The first model offers multiple shades of grey. It is the only one to be fitted with the integrated steel bracelet developed specifically for the Extreme case. This is its first transposition into the Seastrong universe. In keeping with the traditions of haute horlogerie, it features alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces in three maillions that fall naturally to the wrist, which is fastened by a folding clasp. The dial is anthracite grey, the bezel black.
The next two versions, both sporty and dynamic, feature a textured rubber strap, also fastened by a folding clasp secured by a pusher. The first variation is navy blue, with a matching dial and crown grip. The second variation has a black dial with a bright orange flange, the same colour as the rubber strap.
